Kyouji gulped. He knew who was outside, knew what was to come. His stomach twisted in knots as he opened the door, a nervous smile on his face.

“H-happy birthday, senpai!” The lion cheered weakly, his frail body shivering. Sotarou’s arms extended gently. “A-And Valentine’s Day!”

Kyouji’s eyebrows raised at the center and his smile widened to a more believable stretch, accepting the gift from Soutaro.

‘Thank you, Taro. Happy Valentine’s Day.’ Stepping to the side, the dog motioned for the lion to enter the house. It was far too cold for him to be standing outside.

Without asking (how rude), the lion entered quickly and shut the door behind him. “Th-thank you, senpai…” Sotarou said, shivering from the cold. Kyoji’s house was always nice and warm, always very welcoming.

“A-Are your parents out on a date?”

In his paws was a poorly wrapped birthday gift for the labrador. It was Kyoji’s birthday, as well as Valentine’s Day! It was really really special.
